WROUGHTON BOWLS CLUB
GUIDANCE FOR BOWLERS DURING COVID-19
18 May 2020
Over the last week your committee have been discussing how to safely open the green based on information and guidance from both the government and Bowls England.  We are pleased to announce that the green will reopen for members who have paid their membership fee for the 2020 season from Friday 22nd May at 1.00pm.
Bowls England have released their guidelines and as a committee we have adapted it for the needs of Wroughton Bowls Club.
This document will outline how we intend to open the green and allow you to have a rollup, however we advise you to read and digest the guidelines that they have sent us.  Please click the following link to find the Bowls England document - https://www.bowlsengland.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/bowls_england_covid_19_club_guidance_140520_FINAL.pdf

EVERY MEMBER PLAYS AT THEIR OWN RISK, AND SHOULD VERY CAREFULLY CONSIDER THEIR PERSONAL SITUATION BEFORE PLAYING. THE CLUB ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY OUTCOMES ARRISING.
How to have a roll up and what is expected by members who do roll up
All roll ups MUST be booked online via the website, or by clicking the following link
https://form.jotform.com/201362804008041
The rink booking can be made on the club’s website, under the news tab, clicking on the news article Rink Booking System.  Using either of these links will take you to a from that will allow you to select the day you require to book, and the time slots available on that date.  There must be a spare rink between each rink in use, and we will alternate which rinks we use to spread the wear across the green.  Once you have submitted your form, you will be contacted by phone, or email, and assigned a rink, rinks will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.  You may only play on the rink you are assigned, if you wish to cancel a booking, please contact Oliver Moody either on 07729 974524, or via email at wroughtonbccontact@gmail.com
The maximum number of players on the green at one time is 6, 2 players per rink.  This means NO spectators permitted.
The following methods of play are permitted as per Government guidelines:
•    Individual players on a single rink
•    Two members of different households playing on one rink (no marker allowed)
•    Members of the same household playing on a single rink (no marker unless from the same household)
Social distancing rules MUST be adhered to, you must stay 2 metres away from other bowlers who aren’t from your household.
Bookings are for a 60-minute session, with a 30-minute gap between sessions, to avoid players arriving and leaving at the same time. Session times are as follows
•    Mondays and Thursdays 2.30, 4.00, 5.30, 7.00
•    Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 10.00, 11.30, 1.00, 2.30, 4.00, 5.30, 7.00
Due to the Governments need for contact traceability when booking please name the other member if practicing together, EVEN if you are from the same household
